Cinderella - Full Makeup Test
I did a full makeup and hair test for the character of Cinderella on my model. Overall there were a lot of problems with the practice, mainly focusing on the hair as I hadn't planned the style out properly.
Makeup
Skin
The skin makeup for this look is quite simple although I feel it needs more adding to it for a high fashion/editorial look. The makeup is pale with a lot of bronze added over the top as it goes with the green and gold theme of the look. However I want the skin makeup to have more impact so I'd like to add some loose gold glitter on the tops of the cheekbones in a similar way to the purple on the Rapunzel look.
Eyebrows
I was happy with how I filled in the eyebrows and would like to repeat this for the final makeup
Eyes
I was happy with how the eye makeup turned out and it is similar to how I envisioned it in my design. I like the intensity of the colours and I may just make the eyeliner a little thicker. Something i feel does need a bigger change is the amount of diamantes stuck around the eyes I don't feel three is enough to stand out so I'd like to add some more in a similar pattern.
Prosthetic
I was surprised by how the prosthetic turned out as I was expecting it to be worse as the piece I was trailing with had broken cap plastic. There are a few edges that need more work such as under the nose but overall I like the look of the piece and think it will turn out better in the final time with a better prosthetic.
Hair
The hair went wrong multiple times during my trails and I am not happy with how it looked for this finished look. I attached the chignon and was very happy with how it curled with the natural hair and it looked very realistic when it was all down together. The updo was changed during the practices and at first it had a large backcombed shape at the front. I liked this but it wasn't as historically accurate so I attempted to change it. I will draw up a better and more thought out design for the final makeup next week. The hair needs more volume and impact as does the plait as this is a theme of all the looks. I pulled the baby hairs on my model out at the front of the head and for the final makeup I will use a curling wand to tightly curl these around the face as this is a historical feature of the hair from the early 1800's.
