Prepping the Hair Pieces

I wanted to prep all the hair pieces as much as possible before the assessment and photography day to save time.

Rapunzel

After experimenting I had found out that the best way to get a natural wave to the synthetic hair was to tightly plait it then put a lot of hairspray on. I did this with the chignon and the two pre-made wefts and left them to dry. I will also keep them plaited until the assessment to keep them neat and in shape.

Cinderella

This is the chignon I made for Cinderella and to prep it I made it into the bun. This will save a lot of time on the day as I won't be styling it on the head. I plaited the piece and pulled out the plait to make it a lot thicker, so that it made a shape of an entire bun. I then hairsprayed this into place I will apply this straight to the head on the day.

Beauty

To prep the marteux I re-plaited it as it had got a bit messy from practicing with it twice. I plaited the piece tightly then pulled out the plait so it was a lot wider and flatter. I then hairsprayed this into place and it can now be put straight into hair without styling it on the day.

Hair Accessories

I had designed from the beginning to have feathers in the hair of Beauty as in the story she follows her husband by him dropping a feather for every 7 steps. After trying out the other two hairstyles and seeing how big they are I decided it might be nice to put accessories in all the characters hair to match their colour themes and add more interest and a princess look to the hairstyles.

Rapunzel

I bought a bunch of fake purple flowers to use for the hair. I cut off the flower heads and I will place these into the largest plait in the hairstyle.

Cinderella

I used the leaves and white flowers from the bunch of purple flowers and put them together to make accessories for Cinderella. I wanted green and white as green is the theme colour for the look. It also comes from the story where Cinderella wishes on a magical tree grown on her mothers grave. I will stick these around the updo part of the style and maybe in the down back half of the hair.

Beauty

These are the feathers I bought for Beauty. I wanted a mixture of colours (although I may not use the black feathers because of how dark the models hair is) again I will just add these into the curled hair and possibly tie them to the bottoms of the plaits in the hair.

Timetable for Shoot and Assessment Day

This is the timetable I will be using for my assessment day. I will email the information to all people needed ( 3 models + photographer) and I will take the timetable with me on the day to keep myself on track. I have allowed extra time in some places than I think I'll need so that people aren't waiting around for too long and because of any unforeseen circumstances on the day.

I think it's important to have a timetable for my day, especially as I have three makeups to do as it will help keep me on track and so that everyone involved is on the same page with when things are happening.
