Love
Love is bi-annual fashion magazine that started in 2009. The magazine has quite a raw look with a lot being shot in black and white or if in colour with a very muted tone. There is also a lot of nudity.

For their 5th anniversary Love magazine did a shoot based on Lion the Witch and Wardrobe dedicated in part to Dolce and Gabanna. The makeup and hair is exaggerated and detailed including bright colours, hair sculpture and body painting.
Another Magazine
AnOther magazine is a bi-annual magazine launched in 2001. It is a blend of high-fashion and photography with features on art, politics and literature.

Although these makeups and hair are more stripped back the concept is very rough and messy, giving a much more edgy feel.

Hunger is a bi-annual magazine started by photographer Rankin. It's a magazine that focuses on the print, online and films. The magazine is about then hunger to create in fashion, art and music.

This shoot was based on the book Lolita focusing on SS15. The makeup follows trends for the upcoming season with block eyeshadows and dewy skin. It has been created from a novel making it relevant to my project as it's a very lose interpretation of Lolita yet carries the strong themes of the book.
Suitcase
Suitcase is a quarterly print magazine that re-imagines travel magazines. It moves away from the very luxurious and the tourist cliches and embraces adventure, melding fashion and travel.

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Fairytales this shoot again has trends in hair and makeup for SS15 with dewy skin, coral toned colours and a simple wash of eyeshadow.

Inspired by sites such as the Northern Lights and a sunset over a landmark, this lip art is a very detailed and quite complex makeup down by makeup artist Holly Silius to advertise different sites when travelling. It's a clever interpretation of something famous such as the Northern Lights and is an alternative method of editorial advertising.
This was a shoot done with Cara Delevigne that was based on Alice in Wonderland. It involves hair work that sticks to the high fashion style in magazine of very large, backcombed style and features exaggerated fashion makeup with a lot of focus on the eyebrows, a feature that Cara is famous for.
I-D
i-D magazine is a bi-monthly British magazine that has been running since the 1980's. It began dedicated to the punk-street style in London. It was first published as a hand stapled fanzine written on a typewriter. Now it has developed into a glossy magazine but still keeps it street style and strives for originality.
