Trend Analysis

As I'm completing a fashion/editorial makeup I thought it was very important to look into some trends that are happening in makeup now to keep m makeups up to date and on trend. 

SS15

Metallic Eyes

I like the colour of the metallics on the eyes in this image and how it is the main feature of the whole makeup

Dewy Skin, Thick Eyebrows

Thick eyebrows have been a trend for a few years and this is definitely something I'd like to include into my makeup as I think it's very desirable right now and is trend across lots of contexts.

Natural skin, bold lips

Bold lips are definitely something I'm keen to include into at least one of my makeups and I like how in this image the makeup compliments the models skin tone.

Smokey Eye

I like how well this eye makeup suits the models face shape and interesting look.

Plaits/Braids

Plaits and braids are something I'd like to be a massive feature of my makeups so it's very good that they are in trend right now. I like the complexity of the above image and how loose and free the plait is.

Pops of Colour

I like how in this image the pop of colour under the eye is the only defining makeup look.

I like how the colour goes all the way around the eyes in these images and what a strong colour it is. This is definately something I'd like to incorporate into my looks.

Exaggerated lower lashes

This is a trend I haven't seen before but I like how it was a feature across all models in this catwalk and it definitely adds a lot of interest to the faces.

Brow Bone

This is a version of the cut crease that I have already designed into my looks. I like how it flicks out at the edges and how it is a soft not harsh line.

Weaved Braids

This is another version of a braid and I like how using something weaved through it makes it a lot more volumous and eye catching.

Coloured Liner

I like how this coloured eyeliner is simple in shape but using colour moves it away from the cat flick eyeliner which has been a trend for so long.

These trends will help me create my makeups as they're for fashion editorial therefore need to be up to date with the latest trends. I looked at both the current season we're in (that the magazine spread would be brought out in) and the trends that are being shown on the runways now for the future seasons.
